The period of time your WOF lasts for depends upon the registration date of your vehicle. A WOF is issued for 3 years for new vehicles that have never been registered. A WOF is issued for 12 months for vehicles first registered more than two years ago, but less than three years ago. A WOF is issued for 12 months for vehicles first registered on or after January 1st 2000. And WOFs are issued for 6 months for all vehicles first registered before 2000.
